Getting back to the blogging

Today I was thinking about starting a new professional blog and was researching little bit on how to do it. Then I suddenly remembered this blog which I fondly maintained almost till 2012. As I go through the blog and recollecting 6+ memories of Kedaar growing up, I started feeling guilty that I haven't captured any of Sruthi's milestones when she was little. Now my baby is 6 and half years old and Kedaar is 12 and half. Wow, time flies and the blog got a 6 years gap in between. Better late than never, I think I am going to restart blogging. In the midst of bay area life, demanding job and 2 kids with ton of activities - its a matter of time telling me how much justice I can do to this. But of-course I am going to give a try .. :)

Happy New Year

If I retrospect the year 2012, there are so many unforgettable moments in various occassions,  but there are only 2 things that stand out.
One is the loss of our aamma who is dearest to us from childhood (On Sep 7th) and second is the birth of our beautiful little daughter Sruthi Moukthi (Sep 2nd) who brought a bunch of joy to make this sorrow lessen with her smiles. The irony is that both these events happened within the span of few days and aamma didnt get to know the news of baby birth. Hard to understand the acts of god. Time flies .. Looking forward for a wonderful year ahead ..
Here is an albumn with some photos we took for Kedaar and Sruthi from September

Moukthi's first day at day care

Ammamma left for India and now it is time for Moukthi to go to day care after turning 3 months just one day back on Dec 2nd. Today , we tried for a couple of hours and she did ok. It is very sad to let such a little cutie go to the school, but seems like there are not too many options for us. Hope she does well there.

Sruthi chelli is born

Kedaar is a big brother now. His baby sister , Sruthi Moukthika is born on Sep 2nd.
Sruthi is the name Kedaar got fixed from the day 1 since he knew that he will have a little sister, he said thats his favorite name and stood at the top among the other choices like Sisira Dyuthi, Abhhigna, Sindhu, Saveri (Kedaar's pet name for this is strawberry :)) etc. As days progressed , Sruthi appeared like a great choice for us too and we added Mouktika which represents a rare pearl worn by Krishna on nose and something that means goddess Lakshmi. Kedaar can perfectly pronounce this name as well as all other choices we had for the baby.
The baby is home now and Kedaar is trying to play with her little bit (little bit because he cannot shout, make noises near her :))
Here are a couple of pictures of the baby and the big brother.

Art summer camp, 2012

Kedaar started going to summer camp this week, the first 2 weeks are with Mrs.Shilpa Badadare near by our house. Kedaar loved the art summer camp and enjoyed the art very much. Some of the nice art work (canvas paint) he did in these 2 weeks.

Movie watching

Tired of watching all the kiddy stuff for too long, I asked Kedaar to watch a family/children movie with me for a change. We chose a movie called "Perfect game" from netflix.
The movie was very interesting, about how a team from won baseball championship. Kedaar enjoyed the movie fuly as the kids started learning, winning the game. I think he got inspired by it as well, when the movie ended, he went to bedroom to sleep (around night 10 PM) with full of tears in his eyes and he said "mummy, I get tears in my eyes even if it is a good movie". It was amazing that movies can impact kids as well so much and then after that he talked non-stop for 1 hr on how much he likes sports and what all games he can play with super excitement. I saw him getting little involved when we went to some dramatic telugu/hindi movies as well before (where he said at the end how he never want to go such movies again), but this time this was truly inspiration. Anyway, something to remember. Watching TV or movies with Kedaar is so much fun.. whether it is some silly dragon tales he loves, or Seinfeld I love or movies like which all of us can enjoy!
