Dream cars

Kedaar's one of the dreams came true. Kedaar is super fascinated by cars, names/models of about 200 cars, how the engine works, how many exhausters they have, which cars are the fastest, which are rugged etc etc. Whenever we are driving or on road for some reason, there is non-stop naming of cars, models and its really amazing how many things he can exactly name. Along with brand, model, now a days he is able to say its year also. Anyway, Daddy took Kedaar to the practise session of Infineon raceway (near Sonoma) end of August. This is the day before the actual races and you can see the race cars much closer and enjoy some practise races.
He had super fun in the visit and here are some pictures from the trip.

Kedaar preschool graduation and next step for the future doctor..

Kedaar completed his preschool and kindergarten starts tomorrow.
Its been over 2 1/2 yrs since he is attending the preschool and we have been a significant progress in the things he has learnt. He learnt to fairly fluently read now from Alphabets, learnt additions upto adding 6 from recognizing numbers, made so many great friends, went through a big move to CA, explored Karate/Taekwando, Keyboard, art, soccer, swimming extra curricular activities and many more.
Its a been a fun ride and more fun starts when he enters his next big stage when he goes from a school with 1-5 yr old children to 5-10 yr old children elementary school. We wish all the best to the little master to makes everyday of ours irrespective of the tantrums :)

The school didnt allow us to take pictures so Kedaar had to present (represent) his performance at home. Now his consistent future ambition is "I want to become a doctor who drives ferrari"

Taekwando orange belt

First 2 from when apeared for orange belt in CA, the next 2 are from when appeared for yellow belt in WA in April.









Kedaar attended the promotion test this month and got the next level of belt after the yellow black. It is the orange belt. The yellow black belt he got back in April on world cup final day :). Kedaar had to do what in Takenwando they call as the Form 1 and Form 2 (called sunrise, sunset respectively) and few types of kicks and playing defense for this promotion test. Kedaar did it and passed the test. Kedaar has a new asporation now, i.e. get an olympic gold medal like his teacher Mr. Perez. He wants to attend Olympic camp.

Lawrence hall of science, Berkley

We visited Lawrence hall of science for a dynosaur exhibit. The place is amazing and Kedaar had lot of fun playing with the roller coaster experiments and the learning about dynosaurs.

Foster City Carnival

Foster city is a fun little place. People here seem to be quite relaxed and always enjoying some lake side walk or a nice bike ride. Recently Foster city had the carnival. This is an yearly event and conducted by kedaar's takenwando teacher Mr.Perez. The Taekwando schoo kids of "Gold Medal martial arts" gave a performance. All the youngest children (which is where Kedaar belongs) are also welcomed to perform some little things. Kedaar got tensed in the last min and preferred not to go there. None the less the performances were great and the carnival was nice fun for him too.

Santa Cruz trip

For the July 4th long weekend, Kedaar had a great trip to Santa Cruz with Isha akka and Sriram (Saritha/Sree;s family). It was very too hot. Kids really didnt go to the beach instead had great fun with dand, lot of carnival rides.

Car quiz

Nice summer evening, night 8'0 clock.
Dad and Kedaar goes for a walk. Kedaar cannot stop talking, he has so many things to explain and so many questions to ask to dad. The most famous conversation now is..
[Kedaar] Daddy, lets do a quiz on cars. You tell one letter and I will tell the car name that starts with it.
[Daddy]ok, let me think. The letter is..
[kedaar]Ok, Ok, I will tell what we should start with., H for Hummer, hummer is greatest car. it can go in jungles, on water, everywhere.
[Daddy]ok, let me ask next.[starts thinking]
[Kedaar] How about we do "P" daddy. P for Porche. Porche is the fastest race car. its faster than even Ferrari. Hey, "F" for Ferrari. I wish I have so much money to buy one Porche and one Ferrari for my own self
[Daddy] you can buy it when you grow up and study well. Ok, lets continue.
[Kedar] ok, let me tell. A for Acura or Accord, B for BMW, C for Corvette, F for Ferrari, H for Hummer, M for Mercedes Benz, N for Nissan Maxima, P for Porche, what else. [He keeps thinking and ush, back to home already]

He lives and breathes cars now. Finally the trains are over and we are fuly into cars.

Kedaar joins Taekwondo

A couple of weeks back, we joined Kedaar in Taekwondo in GoldMedal martial arts school in Foster City. The teacher is a 1992 gold medal winner and extremely popular in the area. Taekwondo is a different sport than the Karate Kedaar has been learning in Seattle, but several basics are same. So when the teacher took a test, Kedaar did nicely including the suprising demonstration he did by breaking a wood piece. They respected his yellow black belt earned this March and put him an appropriate class per his age and level. We are really excited about this activity and hopefully Kedaar will have fun in this too.

Trip to Napa Valley

As a first trip after we moved here, we drove to Napa valley,CA yesterday with our friends Saritha/Sree's family. The drive was beautiful and the views were amazing. Kedaar had great time in till afternoon running around in the green wineries with Isha sister and later coming back in the friend's car having fun watching movies together with other kids.

Mothers day

Kedaar made some gifts for mom for Mothers day and gave it as part of the parents day tea party they had at school. The parents day tea party was fun. Each kid demonstrated a little bit of what they learn at school. Kedaar answered a subtraction question one of the moms asked. Then all the kids/parents did dance for few minutes:)
In the gifts, the mirror in the picture above is the cutest of all along with a key chain. On the mirror, the sentence says "Mommy I love you, thanks for all you do, really thank you". He wrote this sentence with his own spelling.
The other one he made at home is a small coloring thing along with a poem they were taught in school
"I am like a flower, raised with love by you
Mom. Dad, thanks for all you do."
Again Kedaar wrote this with his spelling and it was so cute.
Later in the evening, dad and the kid got a mom cake and greeting card. Kedaar also cleaned the home, his room that day to give me a surprise and make me a mothers day mom :)

C/O Foster city

After 2 months of rigorous work with planning the move, looking for jobs, packing things, preparing home for sale, meeting people, staying with friends for few days, driving to California , finally we became residents of Foster City, CA :)
This is a real adventure for us with such a short cycle of planning and implementation, Its a lot of hard work and I am sure for Kedaar it was much harder going through this. Its been a couple of days since we are here and we setup most of the rooms and the place is looking like a home now. Kedaar started going to the Foster city preschool and day care from 4/27. He liked the school so far, they have activities like socker, an yearly bicycling event called "Trike a thon". We also started looking for his Kindergarten school as well which he need to join after summer.

Hula hoop

Kedaar's video of latest hula hoop interest. This started all of a sudden from the inspiration of Anjali akka (his friend Rishi's sister) and Ronit bhayya (his friend Rohak's brother). He started practising in one fine weekend and within 1, 2 days he started doing this like an expert. Now he wants to do hula hoop while walking :)

We all went for a photo session today. Its been quite a bit of time since we did that and as usual Kedaar posed nicely, this time with his own bears (polar bear he had since he was 2 months old, Kelan bear he bought from build the bear workshop, Winnie the Pooh from Disneyland) and his new guitar (latest interest)

Terrafugia, the flying car

Kedaar and daddy are too busy discussing the Terrafugia, the car that can fly.
Here are some facts about the car from Kedaar's words.
1. Where is that car: Lot of people are working hard in factory to build the car, they are putting wings for it. When it comes out, we can fly.
2. What are some things we can do with the flying car:

- You can drive Terrafugia to ocean, the turn into a hydro plane. Take it to go to the shark that has a aavi (wound) on back and take the shark to the shark hospital.
Then the uncle will put a bandage that is bigger than Russia on to the shark's aavi.
- We can go to the school in the car, when the cop comes from the back, we just fly and run away from him. Also if there is a traffic jam, you can fly over aaaall the cars.
- We can use it to fly to San fransisco, its much easy because you dont need to go down from car to go into aeroplane, car itself flies.

3. how much does it cost: It costs one hundred million billion dollars. We can get instead of the hummer I was asking for the other day. No no, we have 2 cars, an old car and a new car. I want to get 2 more cars, one is hummer the newest car and then Transfugia , another newest cars. Then we will have 4 cars. I like 4 cars.2 we can keep in gargage, 2 we can park outside.
